About our SEND Family Days

The SEND Family Days are unique days, providing support for children and families with Special Education Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties at our beautiful 'Blackberry Barn' site near Halwell, just outside Totnes, in South Devon.

These sessions provide children with a forest school inspired day of games, adventure, outdoor learning, cooking on the fire; an inspiring and nourishing day for all the children whilst the adults are held in a supportive space by our experienced SEND worker.

During this time, families are given the opportunity to enjoy a hot cup of tea, receive peer support from other parents and gain access to our staff team who have extensive experience supporting SEND children.

The sessions are held by experienced therapeutic and forest school leaders with a wealth of knowledge and skills and enthusiasm for supporting SEND children to thrive beyond the classroom.

The sessions are held by experienced therapeutic and forest school leaders with a wealth of knowledge, skill and enthusiasm for supporting SEND and SEMH children. Our team each hold an enhanced DBS, are safeguarding trained, and certified in administering outdoor paediatric first aid.

These sessions are currently funded by The National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund and are run with a suggested donation of £5 - £10 per child. The usual cost of these sessions is £35 per child. Please don't let cost be a barrier though we want to make these wonderful sessions as accessible as possible to all - please get in touch to discuss.

To book your place(s) please email Thea: admin@wildembers.org
